Azahel Keturah Pipe-Wolferstan aka Half-Dad
Standing at around 8 feet tall - not including the crown - Asahel cuts a rather daunting figure in an all-encompassing black shroud underneath blackened steel armor. Preferring to wield an enormous silvered-steel glaive when fighting on the physical plane, Asahel also commands the entirety of the Malice and the magics contained therein. A dry, bitter being and absentee parent, Asahel maintains a courteous animosity with the protagonists, disinterested in everything about them save manipulating them into doing his will - a fact that often puts him at loggerheads with Tag.
Sly Tait, the Blackjack Brandywine Rose
With a poker face that would win every tournament, Tait keeps her cards close to her chest; she is as gracious and charming as the situation demands, but unless she explicitly says so you'd never know if she was out of her depth or not. As a Summoner of Void, magic comes as readily to her as breathing - though perhaps her most dangerous weapon of all is her looks. As soft as the rose her people called her, Sly Tait hides a thorny intelligence behind a breathtakingly beautiful facade - though she is sometimes betrayed by her sharp eyes, one blue as a cornflower and the other as purple as her magic.
Horace
A tall mountain of a man, Horace sports a well-kempt beard and wears a roughspun tunic and trousers with the Fire sigil worked into the weave. As the Fire Summoner, magic is his element - though he is not averse to using his fists when the need arises. The word most people attribute to him is slow - slow to anger, slow to move, slow to come to a decision - but a better one might be inevitable; once Horace decides upon a course of action, there's no changing his mind and woe betide anyone who gets in his way.
Danny Devito
Short, balding, and nearsighted, Danny isn't exactly the Summoner that strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies when they meet him. However as possibly the most powerful Water Summoner to ever have lived, this is in fact a grave an often fatal error on the part of the enemies. Like the Water he commands, Danny knows when to go with the flow and when to become a raging storm that wears away the strongest mountains; however, he is also the warm tropical sea and gentle sea breezes when he needs to be, and is especially fond of children.
Messorium
A straw-haired matron whose footsteps do not disturb even the softest of grasses, Messorium was almost forty years old when she ascended to the position of Bloom Summoner. Her elemental powers give her dominion over all things living, and the Bloom planet flourished under her guidance. Her sweet exterior hides a core of solid steel, though this is most obvious when she's trying to feed you; her sweet but persistent insistence that her guests have just one more cookie or tamale has created tension at a number of Summoner's Councils.
Primus
A tall, gangly man with perpetually windswept hair that's been drained of all color, Primus favors slim-cut shirts and trousers so that his clothes don't get in the way of his near-constant motion. His gaze is as mercurial as the rest of him, never staying in one spot for long, and his people skills vary widely from completely-missing-the-point to almost uncanny flashes of insight; his temper is volatile and ever-changing, and one avenue of action is as good as any other. Lightning magic loves him, answering his every stray thought - of which there are many - with sparks that twine all about his figure and gather to strike with a single-minded fury in combat.
Slakta
Slakta is a textbook narcissist; she had no regard for others, save what they could do for her, and no regard for her planet save as a place where she lived in only the finest of comforts. In life she was sensuously beautiful, nearly to the point of uncanny exaggeration; in battle she was a four-armed alabaster-skinned nightmare; in death, a tattered ghost. Her power over Blight is not enough for her, so she twisted it to derive power from death and the hatred of others towards her; her powers are many and varied, and yet even beyond death itself they are not enough for her.
Amelia Cosaint
A woman forged by war and made all the kinder for it, Amelia likes to see the good in people - whether or not they truly deserve it - and tries to do her very best for her only child. In full command of the powers afforded the Summoner of the Fire planet, Amelia is a formidable opponent on the battlefield; more often, however, she will attempt to talk her way through things before reaching for the Fire in her soul. A short, slender woman, Amelia passed all her best features down to her daughter - save her eyes, which are a deep gold.
Variq
A short, thin man with a face like boot leather, Variq prefers to wear the loose-fitting garments common on the Fire planet with the bare minimum of decoration - even on days Amelia holds court. Another war veteran, Variq is generally a quiet man who makes snap decisions with a calm, professional air and the will to see them through. While his own personal attachment to magic is weak at best, Variq excels at the machinations of governance and the manipulation of a populace by propaganda.
Ira Dietrich
As Summoner-in-training for the Void planet, Ira's grip on the elemental magics available to them are perhaps not as precise as their father might wish - though it makes them a powerful and unpredictable foe on the battlefield. Standing at around six feet in height, they like walking a tightrope line between gendered fashions, and have a variety of wigs and costumes to keep their look fresh no matter what. For Ira, their responsibility to their planet and their people has been drummed into them from a young age and they take it quite seriously, though they are not yet wise enough to realize that what happens on other planets affects Void as well.
Maksha
Maksha is exceedingly average; average height, average weight, average hair and eye color, and her choice in clothing is similarly understated. The powerful overlook her, and the unwary dismiss her; she uses those facts to her greatest advantage, combining them with powerful psychic abilities and somewhat more limited magic usage. Maksha isn't a particularly standoffish person, but her first priority is her Summoner and her behaviour and mannerisms reflect that; she does her level best to behave in a fashion befitting the Dietrich household.
Gorvain Dietrich
A tall silver fox with broad shoulders, Gorvain has been the face of the Void planet for many years and has a devoted fan following in the City. Wielding the elemental power of Void with a surgeon's delicacy, Gorvain is more likely to try and work through conflicts with a combination of politicking and social manipulation before he uses force. He's spent many years accruing social contacts, and of all the Summoners he is by far the best-connected to people both inside the Company and on other planets.
Excepturyn Voeld
Parallel to Gorvain, Voeld is one of the best dressed men in any room he visits. Cut to hide his enormous physical strength, his suits are simultaneously the height of fashion and the best place to conceal his many, many knives. While usually an easygoing man, Voeld has a temper worse than the Fire Summoner's when he gets going, and only Gorvain can bring him out of a rampage.
Zulimar
The current Water Summoner. Whereabouts currently unknown.
Archebold Langorium
An older gent in his sixties, Langorium has a full head of scruffy grey hair and prefers tough-close-fitting clothing to the more billowy Summoner's robes expected of his station. As Bloom Summoner, he considers it his duty to do what was best for his people - though he does not always fully realize the consequences of his actions. Of the six Summoners on the Council Langorium is the second weakest, and his grip on the elemental magics of his planet is unusually slight for a Summoner born and bred.
Ezra Caepio
Ezra Caepio is the Summoner of the Blight planet; however, Blight is not a well-respected element and technically the weakest of the lot, so Ezra turned to necromancy, chaos magic, and the Malice to supplement his powers. Mocked, bothered, and belittled by his colleagues, Ezra is competitive, has a massive inferiority complex, and is just generally a bitter person. You wouldn't know it from his demeanour, however; Ezra looks like the epitome of a kindly grandfather and dresses like it too, save for the snake-wound staff he carries at all times.
Figmot
A tall, broad-shouldered figure of a man, Figmot is a sickly shade of grey from his skin to his teeth to his eyes. Figmot died several years ago and keeps moving on account of the necromancy; he doesn't breathe, he doesn't eat, and he doesn't use any magic or psychic abilities. He is fanatically loyal to the Blight Summoner, and obeys their every command without question; he is not curious, he is not introspective, he does not consider. Only obey.
The Company
The Company is the single largest (but not the only) manufacturer, importer, and exporter of goods in the entire Continuum system. Their research laboratories are focused on making money more than on making peoples' lives better, and their moral guidelines on what is and is not acceptable employee behavior are at best extremely dubious, and most certainly without oversight. The Company is run by the Board of Directors, though executives oversee the daily operations, and why the Directors choose to do the things they do is often impossible for the average person to figure out.
Gilvia Coregold
Slightly on the taller side with a completely bald head tattooed with a number of odd designs, Gilvia wears plain black robes to denote her status as the Company Summoner. Polite and reasonably affable, she has a great deal of experience in rolling with unexpected occurrences. While the true extent of her powers remains shrouded in mystery, she has demonstrated the ability to command five of the six major elements.
Ms Kale
A tall, narrow woman with steel-grey hair and a penchant for high-quality businesswear, Ms Kale looks like the epitome of a business executive. Her steel hair is mirrored by her steel trap of a mind, and she is absolutely ruthless in business - though she has a somewhat softer spot for family. While she isn't on the Board of the Company, she still holds considerable sway for an executive; when she gives orders, only a majority vote of the Board can override them.
Herr Dobyns
Herr Dobyns is a tall man with thinning brown hair, large jug-handle ears, and oddly nimble fingers; he prefers to wear prescription lab safety goggles and a stained lab coat while he works. He has an utterly amoral devotion to scientific advancement, power, and his own life - in that order; he cares exactly nothing for the suffering of his test subjects except what it can tell him about his ongoing experiment. He is the executive scientist in charge of the Company facility LAST SHORE, and wields that power alongside the gadgets he created there.
Gwennaig ar Merer
A tall woman with dark hair, black eyes, and perfect cupid's-bow lips, Gwennaig wears practical, nondescript clothing underneath the required lab safety gear. She made the choice a long time ago to prioritize her career over personal relationships, and would do anything to ensure her continued ability to do research and advance in the existing Company power structure. While she is not an executive, her time in the laboratories of the Company has granted her a great deal in the way of technical gizmos and the scientific know-how to wield them to devastating effect.
Shavanaugh
Red hair tied in a severe bun, green eyes dimmed behind the most fashionable of glasses, and a business suit ironed sharp enough to cut paper, Shavanaugh strives to present herself as being the perfect executive at all times. From the very start of her tenure with the Company, Shavanaugh was hungry for power and gunning for a position on the Board. Her progress has been steadily rising through the ranks, and her position as the executive in charge of the Haven gives her unique power over both her subordinates and the delegation onboard.
Arrn
A tall, broad-shouldered man with shaggy brown hair and an equally shaggy greying beard, Arrn still wears the armored uniform of a Problem Solver though he technically has been promoted beyond field duty. As arms master aboard the Haven, Arrn is in charge of all the weapons and equipment used by away teams when they were on missions. Not one to use words when silence or a gesture would do, Arrn is Rex's mentor and possibly oldest surviving friend; a well of sage and practical advice, he is the first stop for many people who needed just that.
Milt Felling
A short man with thinning, wiry hair and goggles that take up 76% of his face whether he's wearing them actually on his head or around his neck, Milt is one of the many arcano-engineers the Company relies on to keep its fleet of ships and other engineering installations running. Usually an easygoing man, Milt is Company to the core and won't hear of any anti-Company sentiment. If someone tries to get insistent with him, the myriad of tools he has tucked around on his person can be used to dissuade said person as easily as they can be used to remove stripped screws.
Saren Telf
A short, stocky woman, Saren holds herself with perfect posture when no-one else is around, but tends to slump a bit when faced with authority figures; her sharp brown eyes are largely hidden behind thick glasses, and she prefers thick sweaters to combat the chill of space. She has been the librarian aboard the Haven almost longer than Captain Matt Vancil has been the captain of it, and she knows where every book, magazine, video, and other miscellaneous research materials are. Though not physically much of an opponent in a fight, she can and will use all the knowledge she protects to her best advantage.
C-NACK88
Exactly six feet in height - the standard specification for his make and model - C-NACK's plating is brushed silver with chrome accents, a divided faceplate giving him a permanently pleasant expression. While originally built specifically to pilot and repair shuttles, C-NACK has picked up a few tricks during his travels that give him a unique skillset among his frame-type. Normally a reasonably cheerful robot, C-NACK is also a master of straight-faced smiling sarcasm so intense it might, at times, be mistaken for sincerity.
Tara
A tall, rugged explorer-type with a jaunty - but not rakish - cap she prefers to wear whenever possible, Tara appears to be the epitome of all the Bloom planet has to offer. While her survival skills, honed by years of living and working in the jungles of Bloom, make her a formidable opponent all on their own, what most people notice first is the enormous harpoon gun that is her preferred weapon. Charming and surprisingly convivial for a person who spends months alone at a time in the jungle, Tara has a weakness for fine weapons and often spends her spare time forging her own.
Fidditch Kale
A young man of about twenty, Fidditch Kale looks almost nothing like his mother; from his stocky build to his dark chestnut hair, Fidditch takes after his father as far as looks go. He's an easygoing fellow, polite and willing to help a damsel in distress, he is also on the foolish side and easily influenced by people he should know better than to listen to. He knows a modicum of bar-brawl techniques, and his mother's position and influence shields him from most of the more mundane evils of the world.
Corvix Filibust
A tall, morose man wearing the requisite white lab coat, Corvix is nothing particularly special to look at. His position as leader of the Whitecoat Rebels on Void is due more to the fact that he was the one who started giving orders that people listened to rather than any engineering talent, and his engineering skills are mediocre at best. He has all the personal charm of a cheese grater, but since nobody else particularly wants his job he keeps at it; his dislike of the Company borders on the pathological, and his disdain for the Morelli crime syndicate is obvious every time he speaks about them.
Claire Vancil
Looking almost exactly like her father - save for his signature pompadour - Claire is by far the youngest person on the Haven at six years of age. She is as straightforward in her desires and opinions as any six-year-old is, and has yet to accept that her father has more responsibilities than simply looking after her. Her signature weapon is her puppy-dog-eyes, which can bend anyone - including the robots - aboard Haven to her will.
Sophia Morelli
A short, petite figure with long, dark hair, a strong nose, and ruby-red lips combine to make Sophia a classical beauty. Behind that lovely facade hides a mind like a steel trap and a complete and utter ruthlessness; Sophia has been groomed for decades to be the next head of the Morelli crime family and she's taken every lesson to heart. She carries a modified-for-concealment Void blaster with her wherever she goes, and is never far from at least two of her Family's enforcers - with more just a phone call away.
Zeem
A being made entirely of Fire magic, Zeem in his natural form resembles nothing so much as a self-contained firework, dancing in the air at a brightness that is only just tolerable to look at and a heat decidedly beyond the tolerable level to approach. However, like all of the elemental Fire beings known as Tine, he has the ability to shift shape at will and can pull whatever form he thinks would be most accommodating from his audience's memories. Personality-wise, Zeem is a bright and cheerful spark even on subjects that are definitively not bright or cheerful, and his advice tends to be flaky at best.
Ikabod Isyldoor
A reporter from Void trying to make it big with the story of the millenium.
Ser Drake
A tall, broad-shouldered man with a mane of silver hair, Ser Drake has an ageless quality to his face. He is the head of the Armory, and is proficient with every weapon contained therein.
Gas
The head chef of the Monastery, and an old mentor of Tag's. A perfectionist in the kitchen, Gas cuts an intimidating figure among both his staff and his fellow teachers with his militaristic approach to running the kitchen and his zero-tolerance policy for shenanigans. Broad shoulders slope down to a pot belly, and his barrel chest is often used to good effect when he needs to yell particularly loudly.
Fitzroy Mountgo
The head of the Order Parallel, he's a somewhat papery looking man with an interest in ancient scrolls and tomes.
The Bird
Running instructor; large beaky nose and a thin frame makes them look like a crane.
Toman
Of a middling height and with hair gone grey well before his time, Toman wears the plain grey robes of an unassigned Parallel. One of the many who are rejected by their Summoners to be sent back to Cylvahl Cylesso, Toman is a more martially focused Parallel; his skills with the tonfa are without peer, and he teaches advanced classes in their use. Overall he's a reasonably easygoing man, popular with the younger students for his patience with their mistakes and errors and popular with the older ones for his seemingly endless well of paternal advice.
Violet
A childhood friend of Tag, Violet has a strong sense of justice and never backs down from a fight she thinks is justified. While she pursued no particular weapons specialization at the Monastery, she received just as much general weapons training as all the parallels in training did and is at least workably proficient in every major weapon available in the training halls.
Chase
A servant of the Parallel Monastery, Chase got into trouble a great deal when he was young. In an effort to keep his position at the Monastery when he grew up he's managed a 180 into a straight-laced rules-follower. However, secretly he would like nothing better than to spend endless amounts of time pulling pranks on people.
Secundus
A parallel-in-training who was friendly to young Tag.
Luke
A nervous man, Luke chose to remain on the Haven during personnel reassignments more because the ship was familiar than because of any expectation of safety. His skill with sauces is nothing to sneeze at, however, and his barbecue sauce is a longstanding family tradition.
Mika
A short dumpling-shaped woman, Mika is head of the Haven's kitchen. Nothing happens in her domain that she does not know about, and woe betide the trespasser who thinks they can sneak treats while the kitchen is active. Her preferred weapon is a solid oak ladle.
Fran
Fran is a small, thin, anxiety-ridden wisp of a grandmother. Greying locks flop over eyes that never look at anyone directly, and her conversational skills consist largely of mumbles and assurances that she'll get it right. In charge of desserts in the kitchen.
Zaza
An adventurous soul, Zaza joined the Company to get out of the slums of Void planet and into the wide vastnesses of space. While her credentials only just merited a spot as a fry cook, her dreams are much, much bigger; when she was little, she dreamed of magical places and faraway lands where she had all the power and the ones who routinely belittled her and her father would be crushed beneath the heel of a boot that actually fit her. She in charge of the frying vats on Haven.
Hank
A narcissist to the core, Hank has a constant regimen of bobybuilding he does nearly every single moment he isn't working. Despite the fact that he achieved a Mr. Universe body several years ago, Hank's obsession continues and grates on all the crewmembers he has to interact with on a day to day basis. He is in charge of busing and maintenance in the kitchen.
Zip
Born and raised in a sect of religious zealots who believe that not only is the Continuum sentient, but that it would intercede on your behalf if you asked it often enough in the correct form, Zip was chosen by his religious leaders to go out into the wider system to support his community. A gangly young man with a haunted look in his eyes, Zip constantly mutters the prayers and devotions he learned as a youth while going about his duties. His job in the kitchen is ingredient preparation.
Michael "Big Mike" Derane
A tall man and master of the kitchen's grill, Big Mike takes up a lot of space with his sheer presence. A booming voice and a booming laugh underline an affable nature that belies the fact that he could absolutely floor a several thousand pound steer with a single punch. Not that he'd ever punch anyone without considerable provocation, being an affable gent with a taste for fine things.
Zeriogh
A rather cynical person, Zeriogh is on Haven at this point for the damn spectacle. Every other trip down to the planet results in such ridiculous drama - especially when you have an in with the audio tech so you get a ringside seat to the bullshit - that if you tried to take it to a holodrama producer they'd laugh you right out of the studio. Zeriogh is short, rail-thin despite a propensity for consuming vast amounts of popcorn, and sports a deep blue faux hawk. Is also the one responsible for the still in engineering.
