Bryn Cosaint, Fire Summoner (in training)
Bryn is the heart and soul of the group. As Fiery as the elemental magic she commands she's willful, stubborn, pretty as a painting, and - at times - painfully sincere. Physically, Bryn is the shortest in the group, but you'd never know it; she's got her mother's face and her grandfather's eyes, and prefers to wear her Summoner robes with the Fire motif done in threads that glow with her ambient magic.
Tag the Parallel
Tag is the conscience of the group; he often questions whether or not the course of action they are embarking upon is the wisest or the most moral - though once a course of action is decided upon, he's usually the first one to act, often to his own detriment. Tag commands the powers of the mind, psychic abilities that grow and change the more he accepts what he really is. Taller than Bryn, his clumsiness and impetuous nature means that he's gone through more outfits than every other character combined; he appears to be around 22 years old with a slightly scruffy beard and a perpetually goofy expression.
Rex Leonine
Physically the strongest human character, Rex has strict moral code that often conflicts with the interests of her employers - especially now that she has been granted more powers and responsibilities by the same. With her sword-mace Graflex, Rex is ready, willing, and able to take out threats that present themselves in the physical world; trying to talk her way out of or into things is not her strong suit, and she often puts her foot in her mouth while trying to be suave. The tallest human in the group, Rex wears Company-issued body armor specially modified just for her and has muscles to match her frame.
Sam Haugen
Sam's a jaded cynic infected by an eternal optimist. The Hyde half of a Jekyll-and-Hyde situation, Sam relies on his wits more than his might to get him and his friends out of sticky situations. He prefers to wear a somewhat raggedy tan trench coat and a battered tan fedora - and takes full advantage of trench coat space when he needs to.
Puq
Puq's the eternal optimist tempered by a jaded cynic; he's a master at passing off profound wisdom as complete and utter inanity. The Jekyll half of a Jekyll-and-Hyde situation, Puq's specialized nature as a Void elemental gives him extraordinarily wide options for combat; from a crystalline structure that absorbs Void bolts to the ability to shift his shape and mass how he pleases, Puq can kick the ever-lovin' crap out of whatever is threatening his friends in short enough order. At 8 feet tall, Puq is by far the tallest in the group; his stocky body appears to be made entirely of a crystal somewhere between Void-purple and obsidian.
Professor Baxter Brautigan
The epitome of high int, low wis, Professor Brautigan is one of the most ferociously intelligent engineers in the Continuum system; unfortunately, for all his brain is alight with wondrous mechanisms, he never thinks to ask if it's a good idea to invent his machines - or who might misuse them. Armed with his wits, his tools, and a mechanized muppet-looking elemental cannon attached to his backpack, the Professor prefers to try and think his way out of a jam than shoot an exit; however, should it prove necessary to fire his weapon he absolutely won't hesitate. A tall, good-looking man with black hair and a sharp jawline, the Professor usually wears a utilitarian lab outfit under his knee brace and magic-extracting gauntlet.
Perf
With a liver the same shade of lily-yellow as his robes, Perf is a consummate survivalist - though he will (rarely) let his moral code override his self-preservation instincts. Wielder of a most unusual brand of non- elemental chaos-based magic, not even Perf knows what's going to happen whenever he casts a spell; still, he persists in trying. Of a height made indeterminate by a tall, pointy hat, the yellow-robed Perf is a familiar sight to fans of JourneyQuest.
Captain Matt Vancil
A Captain of many years, Captain Matt Vancil is a judicious man who knows better than to outright voice his true opinions of the actions of the Company - not where they can hear him, anyway. As Captain of the Company ship Haven, he tends not to down to any of the planets the ship visits, instead making sure Haven is repaired, refueled, and restocked while the away team finishes their business; however, should the need arise he has full command of the ship-based weapons systems and has used them to destroy small moons in the face of enemy encroachment. A tall, broad man, his height is accentuated by another foot an some change of pompadour that he spends at least an hour each night grooming and maintaining carefully.
